As women, we hold these things in our heart.......
Together through the storm
Love
Women seem to all have the same image of a successful marriage – the old couple on the park bench holding hands.Words between them are unnecessary, their obvious love reaches out to the passerby. The truth is most people wouldn’t pay the price for they're relationship; that kind of love isn’t cheap. It requires a lifetime of putting someone else’s needs above your own. This is difficult when ‘The Marriage Covenant’ has become ‘The Marriage Contract’ and love is just a word that describes an emotion subject to change.
Henry Drummond in The Greatest Thing in the World analyzes “the spectrum of love”.He compares Paul’s description of love in 1 Corinthians 13 to light having passed through a prism broken up into its component colors on the other side. He states the spectrum of love has nine ingredients:
Patience – Love passive, not in a hurry, calm ready to do its work Kindness – Doing kind things, giving pleasure Generosity – A generous soul, without envy Humility – Love hides even from itself, after good works saying nothing Courtesy – Politeness, gentle-man, gentle-woman Unselfishness – Not seeking your rights, giving Good Temper – Not easily provoked, not offending Guilelessness – Thinks no evil, imputes no motive, sees the bright side Sincerity – Refusing to expose weaknesses of others, seeing the truth
